![]() ![]() In this webinar, you will learn about various pragmatic approaches to implement and roll out LDACS within existing infrastructures as well as its benefits for all users. The webinar will give an overview of the roadmap for the future communications scenario. LDACS is a pillar of the Future Communication Infrastructure and based on a multilink approach. In the webinar, DLR will highlight the key activities of this collaboration, with a particular focus on the successful joint effort to define and develop the LDACS technology. One of the key players in LDACS research is the German Aerospace Center (DLR), which has a long-term partnership with Rohde & Schwarz. LDACS has been jointly developed by several research institutes and industry. With decades of experience in VHF, UHF and HF communications, the company is ideally placed to drive the future of LDACS.īesides highlighting the main benefits of LDACS for users such as air navigation service providers and airlines, the webinar will focus on a concept for a fast and cost-efficient strategy to roll out the LDACS technology that involves upgrading existing infrastructures with minimal effort. Rohde & Schwarz is one of the few manufacturers that is heavily involved in implementing both ground and airborne LDACS equipment. Retaining a FMS-independent VOR capability would satisfy this requirement. The L-band Digital Aeronautical Communications System (LDACS) is a new air-to-ground communications standard for air traffic communications that, in a similar way to cellular telephony, enables a high data rate connection between aircraft and terrestrial infrastructure. An aircraft approved for multi-sensor navigation and equipped with a single navigation system must maintain an ability to navigate or proceed safely in the event that any one component of the navigation system fails, including the flight management system (FMS).
